Default Gasoline Additives

Anyone use this http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/api.aspx or something similiar in their fuel? I use other Amsoil products in boat & Tahoe, my Amsoil guy is recommending. Is it needed or just a waste of money.
Thanks,
Brian

What are you engines on your boat. You can use it if you want, but I wouldn't use it on every tank of gas.

MMo makes a gas and oil additive...

"Marvel Mystery Oil Gasoline Additive It combats internal motor rust and corrosion, lubricates valves, piston rings, upper cylinder walls, and eliminates valve sticking. Keeps rings free and reduces piston and cylinder wear. Also keeps fuel pump and carburetor parts clean, eliminating the need for frequent adjusting. Marvel Mystery Oil retards formation of power dissipating motor deposits, such as gums, varnish, and sludge". This stuff is similiar to ValveTech but also has detergency and not just lubricity components.

I think it's about $3.99/qt...cheap and werks.

I have used it and think it works well in all of the above areas.
In a boat 1 qt per 100 gallons of gas...can be used every tank or every other...you decide. It is reasonably priced and does not have the volatility of jet fuel ( which is what is in most injector and carb cleaners..basically refined kerosene)...that can send off unwanted fumes into the bilge where they can accumulate and poof....

I use STP gas treatment in the car...it works faster but is more volitile and flammable....last time I checked my car didn't have a bilge though...

fyi...cuda and I like the way it smells

I tried a jug of the Lucas additive because my boat hasn't gotten much use lately and it seemed like the lubrication and cleaning properties they CLAIMED were worth $6. I didn't picke any RPMS, top end or better hole shot (with boat)---but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

Couldn't resist the smart-ass comment but I did talk to the Lucas race team in Sarasota and they were convinvincing nad they were from Ocala.

That's why a year's worth of research on this stuff...

....Google ...."law suites and oil additives sometime"..

I know how to make a great oil....buy a good basestock from a major manufacturer in tank cars...and in about
1300-1600 ppm of ZDDP as the main anti-wear agent...use calcium for detergency....and call it Hydro-1.

Anybody want to buy some Hydro-1 Offshore Marine Oil?

....all I need is John Glen or better yet Team Apache' to endorse it and I am in the $$.
