That sounds like a frustrating trip! If you have the bugs worked out the weekend of Aug 6th we are heading to Hardy. Hopefully we will see you out there. BTW there is a real fast H2X running around out there with a procharged 598. He runs close to 100!!!

NH finest Marine patrol pulled up. Moments before the kid with
the dinghy came to get us. MP said they got a complaint
about a loud boat. Asked me to start it then invited me to take a sound test sunday. This was Friday. Anyway Blew my tranny

What a story Smitty! Sorry you had such a bad vacation. Dan Burcher( Half Nutz on the board) broke a coil on the Leopa run. What are the chances he would be carrying another one on board? Turns out he burned up one a couple weeks ago so he decided to carry a spare. I can't believe a Comp poly lock would break. Your cam & valve springs isn't wild enough to put real stress on it. Cheap junk. Our boat's been running beter and better. I've been playing with jetting and timing and we got it up to 75 with 9 people and 3/4 tank of gas on the Leopa run. Outdrive didn't like that so the port one wouldn't go into forward after the lunch stop. I'll be working on that this week.

I have seen many brands of poly locks break just as described. Normally it is from tightening the allen too tight or snuging up the poly lock once the allen set screw is tight. You need them tight, but not too tight.
