Thats where mine is mounted also. the only thing I don't like is any small amounts of sand that gets in the engine tend to block the pick up tube.

Talking Re: where 2 mount my water pressure sender?

When we rig boats here I try to put them on the back of the intake manifold or the front in a stock intake application. Usually the aftermarket intakes have water holes in the rear so this makes it very easy to do. Stock intakes usually have an extra hole that isn't used in the front of the intake also. If you have a boat with a transmission, I like to pull the water pressure off the bottom of the oil cooler in the bell housing.

The only problem with running them on the bottom side of the block is they sometimes get clogged up with soot or sand or even scale from inside the engine block. This is sometimes very hard to keep cleaning if you have a tight engine compartment or a lot of rigging.

I have mine on the bottom of the block. I put in a "T" so that the drain plug is pointing down and catching any sand before it goes into the guage. Just drain a few ounces of water every once-in-a-while and it keeps the guage from plugging up.
