can 2 1500 watt inverters be wired together
was wondering if i run 1 1500 watt inverter of each engine then tie the output together for 3000watts to power a 9000
btu a/c system. thx for any info, ratman

It might be possible but is it a good idea? It would take 4 standard alternaters or a large bank of batteries to provide that much power. A honda generator strapped to the swim platform might work better. This subject has been talked about before, Try seaching for it.

The only way two seperate invertors could be tied together for a single AC load is if their outputs were syncronized. In very expensive and sophistocated applications that is possible. In your case, most likely not a chance.
To use 10 amps @ 120VAC will require approximately 120 amps @ 12VDC. That figure includes the inherent parasitic effeciency loss present in most invertors.
I would generally use a 12:1 ratio when calculating current consumption from my DC suppply. That is, 120 amps DC for 10 amps DC. That's not exact but is reasonable for base calculations.
In my opinion the best invertors for marine applications are battery chargers also. The wiring is much simpler and more efficient.

Tying two invertors together to feed same circuit opens you up to all kinds of ugly problems---one of worst is electrolysis. It will eat up drives in weeks or less.
There are other electricl issuses that are beyond my pay grade but it ain't that simple and it's dangerous to play with a/c around water in the first place.
Beyond that you might creat one more reason for insurance company to deny a claim if something/anythinhg goes wrong if the wiring isn't done to ABYC code.
