Hyd. roller lifters Gen 6
I am on my third trip to the parts store getting lifters. Made two calls to crane and got three set of part numbers that where wrong. Two which ended up being solid lift roller.
Does anyone have a part number for a HYD. roller lifter set? This is for a Gen 6 block. The set that came with the comp set I bought through CP they tie bars bottomed out on the block. |

Has anyone used Lunati roller lifters?

Did you try 13532-16 ?
These have the tie bar between them. I used these on My gen 6 HP500's this spring. |

Don't laugh but the most reliable lifter for that block, and for marine use is the STOCK G.M. lifter trust me I will only use this lifter with my gen 6, I run ultradyne cams at 6100 RPM naturally aspirated 1271 cfm carbs in a 40 ft cat, runs strong at 110 mph, never a lifter problem. ( any G.M. Dealer will get them)

You should talk to Rpmbuilder here on OSO. He sells the Morrel lifters, which I understand are stronger than the stock GM hydraulic roller lifters.

Crane 16535-16 is the lifter set for the GenVI block, You use the existing dog bone retainers and they will accept much higher lifts and rpms. I run a 168741 cam (.632 lift) and still have tons of travel left. Very dependable and have been flawless in several high hp applications for the last several years with no failures what so ever. RPMs around 6000 in my applications. Probably close to the limit with hydraulics.
Down side is cost (~$425) The stock lifters drop into the retainers too far at over .575. Hope this helps, Dave |
