Re: 94 454mag fuel pump replacement????
klmken, can you elaborate on the oil pressure switch that you hooked the fuel pump to?? Is that something that is already on the motor or something you added??? What advantage does this give you over wiring to a key on hot lead???
I'll be sure to watch the overtightening. |
Re: 94 454mag fuel pump replacement????
The switch keeps the pump from running all the time while the key is on. THe motor has to make oil pressure for the switch to be grounded. Take a look at this link: http://holley.com/data/Products/Tech...ech%20Info.pdf and there is a section called oil pressure safety switch.

Re: 94 454mag fuel pump replacement????
On my 454 I tee'd off of the port where the oil pressure sender is located near the oil filter pad on the block. I went to home depot to get the correct fittings in brass. You'll need a 1"-1.5" pipe and a "t" fitting (I think I spent $5, don't forget teflon tape or pipe thread sealant). The pipe will screw into the place where the sending unit came out, screw the "t" into the pipe and then the oil pressure switch in one port and the oil pressure sender in the other. It should all be 1/8" NPT fittings if memory serves me correctly.
