fuel pump recomendations ?

I need to replace my failed Carter electric pump.
Single Holley double-pumper, single engine (about 500 hp), Max RPM 5800.
What do you guys recomend?
I`m thinking that I`ll upgrade all lines to 1/2" and install a regulator for sure.
I`d also like to possibly install a fuel psi gauge on my dash, anyone done this?
Thanks for all replies!

500 h.p. don't waste your money on 1/2" line unless you plan to go bigger in the future.

I ran twin Mallory marine pumps on my cat. They were wired alternatly so only one pump ran at a time. After around 50 hours of use, both pumps were showing signs of failure. This is pretty consistent with other members experience with electric fuel pumps. These things just do not live. As much as I hated the extended crank times with a mechanical pump, I'm thinking that is the way to go. Perhaps a check valve could be added to prevent the fuel from draining back.

My Holley's didn't even last that

I had a Holley pump at first. It lasted maybe a total of 6 hours. I bought this Carter about 3 seasons ago. I have put about 125 hours on it. It still pumps, but is weak, shows 3 psi on gauge.

After two Holleys I went to an Aeromotive marine pump with a bypass regulator. The bypass was an extra hassle to set-up. Should have the boat out this weekend.

REX Marine had the pump and regulator. Bonaco.com made up the stainless lines for the regulator.
