Just remember, thats still a 6.5 gm diesel from the 90's.I read somewhere else too that the rebuild schedule drops signifigantly as the power increases.price wise i think it was 18k to 28k depending on the power level. I'd wait for the duramax conversion,Smitty

Yes... price for the 400hp version is about 30K + tranny.
I think its 23-25 for the 300hp version.
The guys who run this co. and developed these engines, developed the 525efi for merc.
These guys know their chit.
I spoke to them about a yr ago.

5.9 cummins is a merc package already.... I don't know why people aren't buying it and putting twin turbo's and injectors in it..... I'm going to build a set for my next boat...

The 5.9 cummins has been around for a long time, 300HP for marine application. A buddy of mine has them in a 40' Super Hawaii with Arnesons. Runs mid 50's all day long. We went thru the motors last winter and talked to a few guys at Cummins and some Performance Diesel guys. They said not to push them more than 350HP for marine use. Still a great package. They run all day on very little fuel.
