Default needs some help, rigers/mechs still overheating, pls help

still trying to fix my overheating issue. i have drake headers and there are hoses and fittings to move water from one section to the next. then out throught he gaffrig mufflers. the water exits the block via two 1 inch od fittings and all the hoses and fittings are the same size throughout the system except the last set that go from the tails to the gaffrig mufflers. i was thinking about using lager hoses and fittings on the last section so they will all be the same size. when i removed the inlet fitting for the gaffrig mufflers i was shocked to fing the entery hole is 3/8 of an inch!!! wtf. i doesn't appear that water exits anywhere else. is this how it should be? also i am removing the power steering cooler to run a straight pipe for testing to eliminate it as the problem. my water pressure gauges show about 13 lbs of pressure when running at speed. the engine thats getting hot runs about 1 to 2 lbs less pressure than the other motor but i see the gauge fluctuating a little where the other gauge is rock steady needle barely moves. any suggestions would be a big help as im want to run wfo and can't...im getting pissed off, help mr. wizzard, thx ratman

If the water was having a hard time getting out, your water pressure would be higher. Check the inlet side of things too.

i've checked everything and can't find the problem, it looks like the 3/8 inlet hole in the gaffrig mufflers inthe only outlet. doesn't seem like much!

Ratman,

I run 3/4 inch dumps on each header right before the transom.
they dump thru 1 inch dumps thru transom.
My water pressure is 30 lbs at over 100.
My oil temps get to 280 when hard on the sticks.
Measured at filter pad. Water temps are 160 when
running hard. Measured at one of the header feeds.

I run Gaffrig mufflers also there is a 1/4 inch weep hole
drilled in the very end of my tailpipes to keep the muffler
wet and insure water flow thru the very end of the tailpipes
as they exit the transom.

Oh yeah I also run 1/4 inch bleeds from the back of the heads
to the innercoolers. Dont know if they do much.

Look at where the gaffrigs slide onto the tailpipes.
remove the muffler and drill the seam at 12.00 pos. on the tail
pipe. 1/4 inch hole this will insure water flow thru the tailpipes. Dump the water before the mufflers. that hole you pictured is way to small for proper flow. You may need to loose the mercury reliefs. You should be sporting 25 lbs at WFO. You want some pressure!

Oh yeah my thru hull pickups are about a 1/4 inch below
hull bottom.
