Default steering questions

i currently have the stock merc power steering setup w/ single cable, it has 2 bravo drives w/ the tie bar in boat on the tiller arms, anyway, i just got the boat to run 71 mph and was wondering if this was ok w/ the stock system, do i need to add anything?? was considering putting on the external tie bar, any thoughts???

Hi,
Check out the below threads for starters.

or go to search section and type in the topics and enjoy the reads.

I am pondering the idea and trying to sell the wife on such an expense.
Good luck

Gentllemen,
I have externial system for sale. It a Marine Machine with only 16 hrs on the system. It includes rams, ram brackets, ram fastners, bracket fastners, wing plates (twin Bravo I) drive fastner extentions. Photo's available. Asking $1,950.00 plus freight.
Thanks,

External is the best way to go but at the very least you should install a tie bar on the drive that will at least help save the steering pins some what!!!

That's a real good price. You can't touch two rams, wing plates, brackets etc for under 2k anywhere. External steering, at least the add on system is a must at 70 mph.

Dail,
That does sound like a decent price,so would this be considered an add on? Can this be upgraded later as a full system should I decide later. Can you please send pics to [email protected]. or post them on this thread for all to see.
Does anyone know what the flat rate(avg install time) is on installing this. For a novice that turns wrenches quite well?
Now to catch up on honeydue projects to try and convince the wife that we MUST spend more on my hobby.

Add-ons can be upgraded to full hyd at a later date. Had an add-on on my last boat. Rock solid.
