525 efi or super 500 efi?
#1
I have a stock 525efi and I'm thinking of pulling it and putting in a 2002 500efi with a supercharger. Any feed back on the stock 500 efi with changed heads and a vortech supercharger? resale and reliability?

I think you are crazy! Keep the 525 forget the 500 x blower. If you have to go faster get a builder to do something like a 540. Paul Pfaff makes a 700HP EFI with no blower. The engine in my opinion in order to live must be built right. I have seen much more frustration with super chargers than N/A engines. It all depends on how much power you want to make and how fast you want to go. If you really want to go there and must sell the 525 you should be able to get about 20K for it 2-3 k less without the headers. Just my opinion.

If this is the Gary Smith that I talked to some time ago about the Rtech system, give me a call for an update. I wouldn't trade your engine for a 500EFI and I wouldn't be afraid of supercharging it either. We know from the 500EFI what fuel and spark is needed to make 800+ HP reliably. Because the 525EFI has better heads, cam and exhaust it can only make more power. But somebody has to be first...
