I have over 200 hours on the red pumps with the larger fittings and no problems. I run their controller and by pass back to the tank. I have ran the weldons on outboards back in the late 90's and was not happy at all with them and they were expensive. I run them now on KE's pre lubers and have only lost one. Bought a new replacement last year and it came with the pressure set in corectly. Maybe Weldon fuel pumps have gotten their act together but the oil doesn't seem to have changed?

Just to make a few things clear about the aeromotive pumps there are several versions of red pumps-one has a smooth outside finish and is rated at 450lbs per hr with -8 inlet and -6 outlet, the A1000 is rated at 600lb per hr and has -10 in and out, procharger sells this one when you buy there EFI fuel kit with a blower,it is marginal if your boost referencing your pressure up or using injectors bigger than stock merc. The eliminator is the next bigger one,it looks just like the A1000 but you will know if its the bigger one because it will have a bigger -12 inlet hole w/-10 outlet hole and it flows 800lbs per hour. The marine pump is the same pump as just mentioned but it has a double anodized black finish and has been submitted to uscg testing. The biggest one is the Pro series with silver finish and -12 inlet AND outlet's,flows 1000lbs per hour. I originally ran the a1000 on my boat around 650hp w/procharger,it was marginal,I replaced it with a Essex pump,it was a higher quality pump but actually has a lower output rating at 45psi but a higher rating when regulated at 65 or 70 psi if your boost referencing. It was marginal at the 750hp level, couldn't quite get the pressure I wanted. I'm now running the Eliminator with 63lb injectors at 70 psi under boost supporting 950 hp,I had to use a Kenne Bell fuel pump voltage booster to get the output up. I didn't use the weldon or the pro series because my boost referenced regulator and base regulator wouldn't be able to handle the extra flow without serious re-engineering at Idle and off-boost situations,Smitty

Read post 10 then 17,the red a1000 is rated less than the red eliminator or black marine,Smitty

So the Aeromotive website rates the red a1000 to 800hp forced air induction. I'm running a little over 700 hp blown injected at 35psi with boost reference. I'm wondering at what fuel pressure is the pump rated for blown at 800hp. Am I safe since I'm not 800hp or it there more to it? If the rating of 800hp is at carbureted pressures I'm thinking it might not be 800hp at 35psi.

I'm not sure, when you boost reference yours how much fuel pressure are you running? The higher fuel pressure allows you to raise the hp a injector can support but lowers the output of all these pumps signifigantly. Most people can't support much over 650-700 hp w/efi and a procharger with the A1000 if you need to run 60 plus psi under boost,I couldn't,Smitty
