Nice easy one man removal but going back it would still take two people , one to drive and one to guide. Still saves some muscle .

What do you do with it once it's off? I think I'll stick with my cheesy wood stand.

It's not cheesy....well, maybe the wheels are, but the stand is nice. I'd use a heavier duty caster myself.
Two of us pulled off my Alpha and reinstalled it without a hoist. It really wasn't that heavy.

As soon as I tried to wheel it into the garage two of the wheels came off. I put two lawn mower wheels on one side and it works better now. It's just the right height to slide is and out from under the boat.

The reason I made it WAS to make it a one man job. Put the truck in neutral, lightly apply the parking brake and use one of those long strap winches that fall off the semi's all over the highway. Just winch it in as you align the splines.

It works great.

I opened this thread wondering why someone would polish their hoist!
