looking at a sunsation 288
I am looking at a 1997 288 sunsation.
It needs some work interior is ok exterior is good motor is bad. stepped hull ..
I currently have an old baja 25 1986 with a trs and new motor gen4 with a bunch of money and time in it and the boat only goes 56 mph. and a newer 2001 trailer.
so if I buy the boat take my new motor out put it in the new boat put another motor in the old boat try to sell it without a trailer for 6000 .
buying this boat for 20000 is this a good price in todays economy?
will I get the speed out of it. With 450-470 hp

Re: looking at a sunsation 288
It's not a true stepped full step, they didn't do that until 2005.
Speed should be about 70....
As for 20 K being fair,,,, without knowing what the boat has for options and w/ no motor ??????

Speeds should be about 70. The susation will be faster and handle the chop much better. Go for it. See if you can find another used 454 to throw in the baja. I think i know someone who has a 454/370 hp with under 300 hours for 2500. Then sell the Baja for 9-10k. You will probably get more money back and an easier sale.
