Yes, Kevlar 38KV Scarab boat should weigh in at about 9,000 lbs. There should be a KV in the VIN. But may not and still be Kevlar. Great boat. Even better with Konrads, and 720 hp 572's. The hull can really take alot of power, and is one of the few older boats that is worth putting alot of money into. A great riding boat as well. BBB

Is that boat for sale? I saw that page years ago but there is no contact information or price or anything. I figured it was an owner posting his boat for all to see and appreciate. If it is for sale I'll kick myself for not finding the details last year!

Billy what kind of speeds did you land up getting out of the Scarab. And what props did you end up with?

HI ! We eventually got it in the High 80's to 90. Went for the last ride after swaping props and spacers and left Gps home, Had I believe 5 People on boat. Never went faster than that day, were were in very rough water way out east on the south shore of LI. That day later on a valve dropped and we never got it back together right. The motor is all apart. And will be running in March. Will keep everyone posted. My friend has a video of me driving it, It's very impressive. Im going to try to get a copy to post for all to enjoy! I believe 24p 4 blade Merc props. Tried 25p Mirage plus, N.G. The boat probably needs 5 blade herrings. We beat alot of people that were running in Late model 42' Hustlers, Fountains etc. For a 1982 Boat, It's some bang for the buck ! And gives a $400,000 - $500,000 new boat a run for its money ! I'm glad to be part of it.

That's the impression I got from this thread:
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=119258

But, you might be right. It may not be a sale ad. There is some contact info for the 40' Hustler on the same site and I'm sure the owners know each other. BTW, I've seen that Huster in person on the St. Croix River and it's killer. Triple 800's! I wouldn't want his fuel and maintenance bills, though.

We are going threw a Divorce and I want my name off it and my wife said she is going to refinance it in her name to keep it but don't think she will be able to afford the maintence and any other bills that come up with the boat? so I'm saying I think she will sell it or will be forced to sell it threw the courts? so if anyone is interested in it I would e-mail her at [email protected] and let her know you would be interested in it if she decides to sell it just tell her you would be interested so she has someone to contact is she dose have to sell it.The survay was done in July so one would save money on that she has a folder with every reciept reguarding the boat and if seen I think someone interested would buy it? It is a boat with nothing to be done to, turn key operation pictures are on this thread that his brother posted check them out also it is a fresh water only boat a real plus this is why we bought it also,(really love the boat!) and it performs the way it looks!

That is an awesome boat. Sorry to hear about the events that may lead to its sale. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

About the survey...most insurance and financial institutions will not accept a survey over 6 months old. Sorry.
