I am concerned myself that the 24s act as a speed brake....depends on how high they can be lifted in the full up position. I know the Merc k-Planes can be pulled up and away from the water even on a boat with a nose-up attitude.

That's the way my k-planes are. In the full up position they have no effect at all. It would't matter how long they were, they would still be angled up. I think the 24" tabs would be fine.

You can do another demo run on my boat next German Poker Run...All the way trimmed up...NOT 1 sigle mph loss with 30" lower plates !! I'll wait for you at the finish :) :)

I would go with the 24". I had the short ones on my 28' Checkmate and always wished that I had the longer plates. It was hard to keep the boat down in real rough water.

My checkmate is 26' and came with 280S tabs. I replaced them with 380S tabs last year and the difference is amazing. Unless they drag, theres nothing too long IMO.

I have heard longer tabs are usually FASTER because they are more effective when you do use them, they can be ran parallel to the water just touching when landing in water or bouncing compared to a short bennet tab digging in water to be effective at all,Smitty

I've seen everything from 14" to 28" on a 27. Most of out customers opt for a 22 to 24' tab on this size boat. Basically a 280 K-Plane size.

How much for the HP 1000 at 24 inches? What is included besides the tabs?
