Default TRS Tranny Help

I will be rebuilding a couple of B/W drives for my TRS application. I have 71c's (not going behind big power) that were practically given to me and I need to convert them to the trs tailstock. I have the tailstocks also but do I need a special internal shaft for the B/W to accept the drive shaft for the TRS? Also can anyone suggest a good reference book for the B/W tranny?

I went through that a while back when I foolishly thought I needed to upgrade from my MerCtrans II. I was told that the main gearcase for the B/W is specific for the TRS tailstock application. So those straight inboard trannys should be marketed to a straight inboard guy. But if you call Tom Huber (the Huber Racing Transmissions guy) at the new location in Baton Rouge, (225-972-6895) he can give you all the REAL info. on this without any opinionated BS. --- Jer

Nope that white 1:1 will not work. You need the front half of a 71 or 72c 1.52:1. Then you need the Merc tailstock shaft and sealed bearings.

When I upgraded to 72c's, I simply switched the tail stocks from the 71c's to the new tranny's. Long story short, the new boat has Bravo's, so I'm not keeping any extra TRS/BW parts. If your interested in a pair of 71c's, fluid looked good, but I never ran them. Let me know.
