Default Remove U-Joint Bellow

After reading a section in my Seloc repair manual, it says that I am able to change the driveshaft bellows WITHOUT removing the bellhousing. Has anyone tried this and was it easier then removing the bellhousing? I am working on a Bravo 1 transom housing and outdrive. Thanks

Yes I have done them on Alpha's.On my new boat I just put 2 new transom housing's and Bravo 1 drives on my boat. Pulled the drives off in the fall for winter stroage and lube the U-Joints, and noticed a little water in the bottom of the port bellow. As I stated, the housings are NEW, along with everything that came on them. I'm not sure where else water could leak in, and it's NOT leaking into the boat, so I'm thinking that somehow there may be a small hole in the bellow's. I was told that sometimes, when the outdrive is inserted into the bellhousing, some "sealer" should be applied to the edge that "butt's" up the end of the bellow's. Does this make any sense? Thanks

if they are new it sounds like warranty should be fixing it. one year on parts no questions asked.... o.k. there will be a few questions but i would call a dealer with the serial number to verify the warranty is good and make mercury pay. my two cents

dont need to the rubber seals it

the trick to pulling the bellows is a remove the wire from the bellows, remove exaust bellows the rest is easy, remove wire from new bellows prior to installing then insert the wire before adding drive,,,
