SW is a little faster. Harder water, some swells to get the boat in the air, better air (sea level).

But the viscosity of salt water is higher, so salt is sometimes faster but not always - it depends!

Technically salt water may be faster, but not after your outdrives rot off!

I to believe the speeds are the same. Although it is true the salt water is more dense and allows your boat to float higher in the water, i have also heard that the salt water produces more drag because of the salt....im not saying this is true rather an opinion that i have heard from more than one person.
