Question about GGB Mufflers
I bought two pair of the GGB clamp on mufflers over the winter for my dry setup and have not used them yet. Was just reading the on line ad below and it says that they can be converted for use on a DRY system.
I have a dry system and this is the reason I purchased the GGB's. But there is nothing in the directions about converting them. Does anyone know what they mean, or know what needs to be done to run these on a dry system? GGB Extreme 4.5" Clamp-On Avoid that unwanted stop on the water this summer with the Extreme! The Clamp-on is for use on 4.5" wet exhaust systems but can be converted for use on a dry system. Installed mufflers extend past the transom 8.5". Zero performance loss with noise reductions of 12-15dB. Water reversion flap is standard. Mirror polished from 316L SS. |
Re: Question about GGB Mufflers
I run them on dry CMI headers. Graham from GGB told me to simply remove the rubber flapper in the mufflers to run them on dry pipes. I have used them for just about the whole season without a problem.

Re: Question about GGB Mufflers
I run them on my Gun with 800s and Stainless Marine Wet, they are great, you can talk at cruise speeds and the engines sound very mild at idle.
Before these GGBs you couldn't even talk at idle,it was a scream fest. We will be installing the 5" on our wet 1050s in our Cat in a month or so and expect the same results. They work well for us! |
Re: Question about GGB Mufflers

Re: Question about GGB Mufflers
Putting 4.5" on my semi-dry tailpipes for spring. Lofty suggested removing the internal flappers if I wanted to hear anything at idle. I will be running external flappers.
