Default Question about GGB Mufflers

I bought two pair of the GGB clamp on mufflers over the winter for my dry setup and have not used them yet. Was just reading the on line ad below and it says that they can be converted for use on a DRY system.

I have a dry system and this is the reason I purchased the GGB's. But there is nothing in the directions about converting them. Does anyone know what they mean, or know what needs to be done to run these on a dry system?

GGB Extreme 4.5" Clamp-On
Avoid that unwanted stop on the water this summer with the Extreme! The Clamp-on is for use on 4.5" wet exhaust systems but can be converted for use on a dry system. Installed mufflers extend past the transom 8.5". Zero performance loss with noise reductions of 12-15dB. Water reversion flap is standard. Mirror polished from 316L SS.

I run them on dry CMI headers. Graham from GGB told me to simply remove the rubber flapper in the mufflers to run them on dry pipes. I have used them for just about the whole season without a problem.

All the ones that I heard with wet exhaust, are real, real quiet.

I have them, the transom mount not clamp on, and they do knock about 12-15db off the sound. Before my 525efi was so loud that even at idle speed it was hard to talk to my woman sitting across from me. Now we can carry on a conversation and I still have a very nice rumble. When you throttle up they come alive and there is no doubt you have a health power plant. I'm happy with them and would not change back to open exhaust.

I'm running stainless marine 3's with 5" tails with ggb's on a blower motor (wet). It was obnoxiously loud open,it still screams with the ggb's but it is tolerable, not exactly real, real quiet,Smitty

I run them on my Gun with 800s and Stainless Marine Wet, they are great, you can talk at cruise speeds and the engines sound very mild at idle.
Before these GGBs you couldn't even talk at idle,it was a scream fest.
We will be installing the 5" on our wet 1050s in our Cat in a month or so and expect the same results.
They work well for us!

Putting 4.5" on my semi-dry tailpipes for spring. Lofty suggested removing the internal flappers if I wanted to hear anything at idle. I will be running external flappers.
