GPS systems... Help
#1
I'm not up to date on whats available for gps plotting or even what I should be looking for? Hoping to get some responses from the guys who have electronics and what they are using, what they wish they had, how much I'm going to spend. This boat is going to be used offshore So Cal and the colorado river area if that makes a difference. Looking for units that will flush mount and if they can interface with the engine electronics then thats a plus. Not using smartcraft in this boat but I think the ecm is mefi? Give me some ideas guys as to where to start and what i should be asking?

We use the Garmin 182c and it works great...Run out of Huntington often with the SCOPE group...You should come to the SCOPE kick-off party this Saturday at SC Performance Marine....will be alot of fun.

I like the garmin units. They have a new line out that is the 3200 series I believe. It has all the blue charts already stored in it so you will never be without a good map. They also have some new chips that have camera icons and if you click on them 3 different pics of the object come up, like a marina, bridge, restuarant or what ever. www.gpsdiscount.com has some pretty good pricing also.
