Default Drive Options for New Power

I am trying to list all of my drive options and associated costs since I am in the process of increasing my engine specs. What are my options, pros and cons, etc. starting with just keepinig my stock Bravo's? I am looking for top speed without giving up too much drivability. Any suggestions?

Lets start by asking what power you will be running, what size and type of hull?

If you're interested I have some drives for sale that may fit your needs depending on what power and boat you'll be running them in.

I have a 2001 35' Fountain Classic single step. The engines are currently being assembled - hope to dyno at 700 hp (NA).

At that power level I would recommend upgraded XR's at the least. Some people have luck with the XR's and other's don't.

On a boat with your weight and power it shouldn't be a problem for the IMCO's. If you're intestered just let me know.

How flexible are you with your engine locations?

The stronger drives out there need some type of transmission. IMCO 4x4's, SSM V's and VI's, and the Konrads are just gears, no shifting. You can move the motors forward to keep the tranny inside, or keep them in a "bravo location" against the transom, and poke the tranny thru the transom inside of an extension box.

Your 35 has plenty of room inside of the engine compartment to move the motors forward the 12" or so necessary, and you'd be surprised what it does for the balance of the boat.

My 10 Meter has 72c trannies, Konrad 540's (no boxes), and about 625 hp. I beat it mercilessly, and the drives just keep going... and going...

Good luck,
Brian

www.billetmarine.com know of a formula using them with 1000s. were gona be using em with trip 960hp. about 7500 each or so, you can use your stock transom assembly and everything.
