I have never checked but I think the pump on my 5th wheel had a check valve in it so the city water will not back fill into the freash water holding tank. I would think the boat pump is the same way. I would think you would need to pumb it up the same way or put a shut off valve in the tank side of it. I will tell you if you do this ALWAYS use a regulator on the hose. I has seen big PSI out of campground water hook ups . I would hate to see you wake up and need your suba gear to get out of bed.

No, I've never met forum member "Mike Paula" before.

He does give good advise though.

Install a tee fitting after the pump. The pump should have a check valve in it (if not you will see the water tank fill up, if that happends install a check valve) Use a fill fitting with the built in regulator. All done and no more running out...........

So even if you filled your tank before the Fatty showered, mostly all the 100 gallons of H20 would be used by the time she was finished washing under the lower section of rolls. Now i see your point.

I would personally invest in a Fireboat that pulls water from the river, have her stand on the dock, and blast the scum right off her.....oh yea, make her do the flashdance routine while you do it.
LMFAO!!!

That is one of the funniest things I've EVER read here!!

Ok, If you do this, install a regulator so the city water pressure is controlled. Its part of the fitting you buy to make the connection on the boat (or should be). Then be absolutely sure you turn it off when you are not on the boat. Ive seen boats sink at the dock because a hose broke or popped off and the boat filled up and down she went. Bilge pump didnt stop it. I might have enough pump in mine to keep it afloat but I still wont hook up a water line to the boat.

Make sure you turn the city water valve off before you leave for the weekend.

Turn it off while you sleep too.

Yeah... a good friend of mine sank a 27 sea ray overnight while he slept. By the time he woke up... the engines were already wet. The bildge pump was no match for the city water pressure.

Make sure it's regulated and that every fitting in the system can handle the PSI.
