Where to get Whipple's Rebuilt?

Whipple doesn't do it apparently, they want to sell me a new unit. I found PSE Superchargers on another thread. Are they the only source? Are they reputable? Anyone with some experience they could share?

Thanks!

I'd call Teague and see what Bob recommends

Thanks Fred, that's a great idea!

I believe Whipple does not rebuild them because the cost to do so is almost the same as buying a new rotor housing with rotors and bolting it all back together.

I would think it is because they don't deal with Lysholm anymore.

Apparently after a while the seals wear out and oil leaks, both externally and internally. I was having to add oil to mine every few hours. It was weaping a bit on the outside behind the pully and when I pulled it off there was a lot of oil lying in the intake tract. Since it's on a dry FI system, there's only one place for the oil to be coming from.

I spoke to PSE Superchargers, they seem to be knowledgeable enough to be trusted. It's getting shipped off to them today.

PSE will do you a good job. I had the same oil seal problem, and they did a great job rebuilding them. I would convert them to external oiling, get oil supply from back of your block and return it to your valve cover. Eliminate the pressure in the gearset of the whipple and allow engine oil to lubricate the blower. Will run much cooler and more reliable.

Anybody know if there is a feasible way to filter the return oil leaving the whipple to prevent engine damage in the event the SC lets go? Where is the oil typically returned on a external oiling setup. Is it returned right to the filter pad intake?
