i just picked up my new chaparral boat it has a volvo 5.7 and i am looking for any one with speed tricks for me or info of someone who can work on it for me I have the need for speed but have to have a family boat do to small child

engine wise any good merc TECH should be able to help you out

I too have VP and they are the same as any SBC...well the cam/carb and some external things (alternators etc) are different between merc and VP but basically the major internals are same. Do you have a stainless prop? That is pretty much best bang for the buck in the quest for more performance...this is a slippery slope ...the need for speed bug as bite ya....welcome to the crowd. :-)

what boat? carb or efi? single or duo prop? actual model # of engine? what are your goals?

chaparral 246ssi 5.7 280hp efi i would like to get another 5 mph out on the top end .Maybe change the computer or injection .I also have quick and quite on it
