BRAVO 1 drives

How can you tell a gen 1 from a gen 2. I am looking in the classfieds at a used bravo drive the guy thinks it.s a 94? but the gear case looks like my 88 both have nose cones is there a # that will tell you? on the case. He took them in on trade so he's not sure of the yr. I want to put my new 2'' shortie on it. because there is a oiling problem with the old cases on gen 1 that you have to drill out the upper case, so I want a newer drive to put the shortie on. Thanks for any help art

try researching using bam marine's site, certain drives are listed under certain years...i think yours is the older design..

which would be the old style like I what I have now :( which means the 2'' shortie won't fit :(
