How can you tell a gen 1 from a gen 2. I am looking in the classfieds at a used bravo drive the guy thinks it.s a 94? but the gear case looks like my 88 both have nose cones is there a # that will tell you? on the case. He took them in on trade so he's not sure of the yr. I want to put my new 2'' shortie on it. because there is a oiling problem with the old cases on gen 1 that you have to drill out the upper case, so I want a newer drive to put the shortie on. try researching using bam marine's site, certain drives are listed under certain years...i think yours is the older design..
