Engine Prelubers....
3 Attachment(s)
How many of you guy's use a preluber on your engines? Better yet, who is thinking about adding one to there setup? Well, I just finished a install on Maximus and I had some custom brackets made up by a local shop. As you know, the first set is always the most expensive. I was wanting to see what kind of demand I would have for these before I order 50 to see what kinda of a deal I can give. Let me know what you guys think please.
I appreciate it! :D John S. |

That is a nice looking setup. You did a very good job.
I had the same unit on my last boat and thought it was worth the money. However I went with the KE units on my present boat mainly because I wanted the ease of oil changes. I can completely drain all the oil out of a warm engine in five minutes start to finish right out of the bottom of the drain pan without even getting in the boat. |
Re: Engine Prelubers....
Hey Doc,
That unit that you have, do you just disconnect on end and pump it into a bucket? If you use it as a preluber where does the other end connect to? Thanks, John :D |

Re: Engine Prelubers....
I installed the Marine Accusump setup (Canton) last spring with the electric valve, Very happy so far + you get to run a lower oil level in the sump which is always a plus

Hey Mark,
Do you have any pictures of your set up on your motor? I would like to see it. Thanks, John S. :D |

Re: Engine Prelubers....
I posed this question several months ago. I didn't get too many responses on the prelubers being used. I was thinking of adding one this season, but my engine builder and others have said, don't waste your money.

Re: Engine Prelubers....
I have heard it said many times that 90% of the bearing wear is at start up before pressure developes, don't ask an engine builder that is taking the bread out of his mouth what answer did you expect???
