Most used is vise grip pliers. Especially curved jaw with wire cutter.

Most irreplaceable when nothing else will do the job;
Oxy-Acetylene torch. The ultimate persuader.

The smallest ( 6.5" ) Channel-lock plier.
A good Leatherman.

And I agree with the torch.

I am with you on that but I don't trade up just ad, I got 2 9.6 impacts 1 drill, 1 12 impact 1 drill, 1 18 volt impact 1 drill. And I first on the list for the new 24 volt impact. But I must say the Stylus pen light gets used a bunch too.

Snap-On has one smaller, I've broken a few and they just keep replacing them! :D :D
A pic of my box, I was like a proud daddy when I first got it! It's a little dusty right now, until the boat gets gel, then it will get a wash and wax.
The cordless impact driver is incredible, I would have bought one, but I already own a number of 18V De Walt tools.
Most used tool......10lb sledge :D :D

i am a Snap On tool dealer. i would say that the most sold tool is the 9.6 to18 volt 3/8 and 1/2 drive impacts, handy for just about anything. there is a new 1/4 or quick release coming soon should be great for boat stuff.

have used modus very nice really only a snap on style lap top

a cross between a lap top and a scanner, I like my rinda program better easier to use and uses a real lap top

Why in the hell does it take so long for Snap On to build a box, I ordered a new KLR 1024 with a custom lay out and it's going to be about 13 weeks till I see it.

custom boxes are just that. not in stock ready to ship. i do think 13 weeks is a little long. last one I did was 7 weeks. have you seen the 1054? way cool box. good thing about Modus is the componet tester alot of info, for automotive world anyway.

I'm not running out any time soon to get one as it doesn't seem to do anything more than my mt2500 and tran-x 2000 already do (as far as transmission data/testing and checking intertwined vehicle components that affect inputs for controlling the transmission). If I did general repair it would probably be a different story.Haven't seen or used a Solus yet, what's it's claim to fame, who makes it,can it do OEM reflashes or updates or something? Smitty

solus is new mt2500 sort of. windows c.e. based with full color grafhing much faster than the2500 and is C.A.N. ready. larger screen can road test graf and data at same time and has glitch finder. get your dealer to demo one you will love it

the smoke E-vap machine should be able to pay for it self in a couple of weeks if you use it on every car that comes in to your shop. will find leaks in places you didnt think to look.

I agree it's easier to find tools when they are all arranged properly. Rob is looking to buy a new Snap-On tool box soon. He's had his Matco (which he has waxed but it's not engraved) for years and is ready for a bigger, better tool box.

Impressive. I have to mention this thread to him. :D  Could get me in trouble. I have questioned him when he goes out to buy a tool that he might use only once. He repeats, again and again, you can never have too many tools

Not being a mechanic by trade these are my favorite tools for working on the boat. All my other tools like to jump out of my hands into the bildge so I use these alot :D They work for nuts and bolts too :D :drink:

Rastinger....Snap On all the way!! I had my MAC box for 23 years and it served a purpose. I bought my KRL1022 with all the bling (stainless top and drawer tops) Luisted out around 7K.....But my Snap-On dealers district manager is a friend of mine from high school so I got a smokin' deal with the trade in on my old box (WAY under 1/2 of list price) :D But I do love my box and it's like my boat.......1 of a kind!!

He's fortunate too RA that his best friend and business partner (for another company) is a Snap-On dealer himself, so we always get it at cost or whatever smokin deal we can get on it all. I agree, I personally like Snap-On better than anything out there.

I'd post pics of Rob's tool drawers, but he's wrenching and fixing stuff on the boat and they're not so pretty right now  :evilb: :p
