We saw a big difference at about 85 and above on a high X dimension cat with twins. One drive with a nose cone and our spare drive without. RPMs on drive without nose cone climbed a last faster above 85 than the one with. Put the right drive back on and RPMs were the same.

Fred the cones came in on tues. thanks.I know a 388 that put them on and did make a big diff. and especially in handling over 90+.Fred if you like and want to install mine for practice i can send my drives to you.

Rich, do you have a tig welder?
if you do start grinding your lowers, i know you like the thought of that :
I'll help for a gift cert.
they are not that bad you can either spot weld them then epoxy or just epoxy.

No welding to be done on my drives.Good since it looks like it will be raining on sat. then i'll be at the shop at 7 am well better make that 8 am.

Fred, So Hydro has a nose cose for a Bravo 1 drive that has ONLY the low water pickup? I have hull mounted offshore water pickups so that's not the problem. The low water pickups on the drive lowers are used for the top cooler cap. Richard

Send the nose cones to rivas. I saw the ones he has done and they look great. If you call him he would probably do them on a weekend, maybe when you pick up your boat.
