alumn. heads and header bolts
Does anybody use anti-seize or any combound on the header bolts?

Re: alumn. heads and header bolts
Good Idea to use anti-seize. The two different metals will corrode and bond together.

Re: alumn. heads and header bolts
There was a thread not long ago on antiseize, and it created quite a stir. Personally I like graphite but some of the professionals that should know don't use antiseize on boats.
This should be another good discussion! |
Re: alumn. heads and header bolts
You might consider studs in the head instead of bolts. I believe there might be some benefits to using studs.

Re: alumn. heads and header bolts
no doubt studs are far superior to bolts & anti seize is a great thing to use I would use c-5a over the others as it uses silver & nickel as a base

Re: alumn. heads and header bolts
I use the ARP stainless studs and Nickle Anti-seize.

Re: alumn. heads and header bolts
thanks for the info. I know studs are better, but I've never studded the head for headers. I guess I will call around to find header studs. :(

Whats everyones opinion on the stage 8 locking bolts? I have them on my Harley and my race truck and love them, guaranteed not to back out.
