Re: Hatch lift and dead batts?
I'll mount a set of terminals under the rear seat, but I'm more concerned with an electrical problem and or bad lift mtr. I will rig up a quick release cable to the pull pin.
Thanks Guys  |

Thanks Guys  I installed it because last summer it was really rough on our way back home. Just before we got in I got on it for a little while. We got back to the river and I noticed the bildge pump was running. Went to go open the hatch and in was broken. I had 3 guys prying the hatch up so I could could see what was going on. It turns out one of the header hoses blew out and was pumping water into the bildge. We then had to pry the hatch up while I stuck my arm in with a channel lock's to pull the pin out. Ever since then I knew I had to come up with an easier way to get into the hatch if there was an emergency. |
Re: Hatch lift and dead batts?
My fountain has a plug under the seat to hook jumper cables to. I need to get a set to fit that plug just in case. If the motor on the ram goes out i'm screwed. Hopefully it'll warn me first.

Re: Hatch lift and dead batts?
I just plug an extension chord into my shore power outlet and use the onboard battery charger to juice up the batteries for a few minutes.

I Also Have A Release Pin Just For This Reason. I Am Thinking About Adding A Set Of Terminals Under The Seat. Last Time I Just Took The 4awg Wire From My Amps And Jumed It That Way.

Re: Hatch lift and dead batts?
Is it normal for the electric hatch to kill the charge in a new battery in a few lifts? New battery, engine off and the deep cycle battery is toast in 3-5 lifts. If not would you replace with new electric or hydraulic one from bennet that runs off trim tab pump?
