Like Mike said it would be pushing it on the stock 500efi.I believe the head gaskets are the week link.If ya get a bad batch of fuel.innercooler doesn't get enough water ,ECM program off just a little,not knowing with out dynoing it.etc

I guess it depends on how ya drive it,you probaly can get away with it.

I have been running mine at 7.25 but I changed a lot of stuff in my 500efi to accept the boost,I have gone a lot higher also.but its on edge

Doesent the stock cam only have 11-15 degrees of overlap?

My Engine Guy Said He Would Give Me The 7 Psi Pully
BUT I WOULD BLOW A GASGET.
Head Gasket Job Coming In..

pushed a head gasket out to the water jacket in destin.Went back with cometic gaskets and left the whipple at 7 lbs.Picked up 6 mph. these whipple motors really make some power!!

Stock Gasket Blew On A 500 Efi Between 5 And 7 And Also Pushed Out Into The Water Jacket. No Other Damage. Can I Go To 8 Lbs Now?lol

I am running the Felpro metal headgaskets.Last season it was at 7 1/4 and this season I have been at 9lbs.On the dyno we made 5 pulls at 11 1/2 So far so good.Go for it

install a pair of cometic head gaskets and get a valve job and new valves springs before you install the bigger pulleys and you should be fine. cometic told me they have guys running 12lbs of boost with no o ringing of the head and block
