Default Mayfair External Steering

Does anyone have any experience with the Mayfair steering with the end cap design?

No....the wing plate was the old style. Which is of course, the style being currently sold by Marine Machine. Very nice stuff, you probably have it on your Hustler.

I am looking at the current "Mayfair" type which is being sold by Hardin. It is using the end cap type design, typ. of Imco, Latham, & Zeigers.

I would think if Hardin has it that it might be made overseas??

I have never herad anything bad about the Imco/Latham style rear caps . My Hustler came with B-Max's on it .On My Scarab I put the Marine Machine sterring on it with the wing plates.I liked it over the casted rear caps.

Getting to the point of what's not made overseas especially in terms of any parts that use castings, etc. NO environmental issues, NO safety issues/OSHA, NO high liability costs, NO high workman's comp costs, etc.

I remember once upon a time when they actually turned brake rotors. Now so cheap, just throw aways.

Now they are such cheap quality that you have no choice. You have to throw them away.
