Height difference? Stock vs Dart.
Anyone know the height difference between a stock 9.800” block with GM 990 heads and a Dart 10.200” block with Dart Pro 1 heads? (from crankshaft centre to exhaust ports)
I suppose the Dart combo will be about 1” taller, but I need to know exactly.

i think is about 3/4 of an inch cuz its on a 45* angle, i had trouble fitting my exhaust and had to mill material off the maniflod flanges to make it fit. what type of exhaust are you running.

The current set up is 9.800" blocks with GM 990 heads and TRS's, but I'm going with tall deck 572's and SSM#6's.
As you can see in the pic there's no more headroom for the headers, so I try to figure out if it's possible to get the X-dimension I want,
and I don't want to lower the motors more than I really need.
My goal is to lower the motors exactly as much as the Dart combo are taller than my current motors.
Thanks for your reply ratman.

Yeah, the sixes are 5.55" shorter, but the prop shafts should also be a lot higher than the TSR's.
The #6's prop shafts will be 1/2" below the running surfaces if I lower the motors 3/4".
