Silent Choice or not
I am installing a new 496 and have the option of silent choice or otherwise. I love the ability to switch off the exhaust when needed. My question is would a set of switchable silencers the type that go on the exhaust tip be quiet. One MFG says it would reduce db levels by 20. How quiet are these type and I still wonder if reversion is an issue with silent choice since the water level is much higher than through the transom exhaust.

Re: Silent Choice or not
I have CMI exhaust with teague switchable tips. Although not as quiet as silent choice they do make a big difference. They take away a lot of the noise but it still sounds like a big block. Not as detectable to the coppers either if switchables are illegal where you are either....
Shouldnt cruise over 3500 rpms though with them on.
