454 Mags (stock compression 8.6) with a big hydraulic roller custom grind cam, Dart Pro1 CNC'd heads, inter-cooled Whipple superchargers (running 9# boost on pump gas), single Holley 850 carbs, K&N filters and Stainless Marine Hi-torque exhaust.

From conversations with a guy that did R&D with Whipple the best they had ever saw this combination (but with a bigger carb and different exhaust) was 825hp but more typically they got 750-775. However this was with dyno tuning. I estimate my hp to be somewhere around 650 to 700 at best.

I would agree you should be able to give me a good run.

Ran the HP 500 Darts on some 454 Mags some years ago and ended up putting 1 inch 4 hole spacers under the Holleys to get the carbs to perform right. The carbs had come from Barry Grant and the spacer recomendation was from them as well. Their reasoning was that the carbs were not getting enough "signal" from the engine, the spacers increase the velocity and "signal" at the base of the carb and allow it to work as it should. My jetting was way up there before the spacers, and the engne was not responsive to jet change at all, after more in a normal range and much more tuneable. Might be worth a try, they are cheap, just make sure they are the 4 hole version, an open spacer will just make the plenum act larger and likely make your problem worse.
