Default Halon question - how does it work?

Specifically, how does the light on the dash function?

The light stopped coming on, it's not getting voltage so it's not a burnt out bulb. there's a bottle in the bilge with a sensor on the top, presumably a temperature switch.

How is the light hooked up? If i bridge the two wires that connect to the light, should it light up? I tried that and the light didn't come on.

I want to make sure it's not something else before i go and replace the bottle.

Check this manual and see if it helps.
