I just installed a Sony CD/DVD head unit that I love, plus it has yet to skip while running. 3 preouts, (front L&R, rear L&R, sub) video out, aux audio in. XM ready, Dual Zone also. Sony Mex-R5. I think I paid right around $250

While the frequency response, slew rate, damping factor, class, power output, input sensitivity and impedance range of the amp are all important aspects of how your system will sound...

the speakers make the largest difference in any system.
