how do i know if I have an ecm that is recalled on the 496 engines ? does it have a serial # on the ecm or engine and which ones are they ?

yes there is a number on the pcm along with a date of manufacture

goodt do you have the serial #'s ? what would I notice engine perf. wise if I have this problem ?

If you post the engine serial number I am sure someone could tell you what service bulletins pertain to that engine.

My problem is that the engines in this boat where originally 496 mags and the cams was replaced with ho cams and the ecm's where purchased used and installed so I don't really know the serial#' of the engines they came from.

ok, well this is what comes up for that serial number. There is one (01-14) that calls for ECM replacement if the engine does not shut off when the key is turned off. No other ECM replacements listed. Hope that helps.
