Do I need to rebalance?
#1
Externally balanced 540 (509ci with Skat crank). Everything was balanced last summer when I assembled the engine.
Somehow my starter knocked some teeth off of my flywheel. I've ordered a new one already (GM Part# 14096987), but am wondering if the rotating assembly has to be rebalanced? I think I've read where it would be recommended, but I don't think I'm going to have time to get it done before our Poker Run here in Richmond (July14th).

I talked to my machine shop this afternoon. I didn't even know the ring gear came off. Anyway, I just got back from NAPA with a new ring gear.
Thanks for the replies....
