Could it be that the kill switch is connected true the ign key switch, and that the kill switch is defective, and that the the power you are "reading" is the main power. Ie you have no ign. power. (In lack of a better word)

yap picken up the box tuesday to have it over nited would have been nuts so 9am getting it for 5 bucks more and going out for test run in the afternoon or wednesday the wife has plans for the weekend 
with me 
so no boating, until next week and then the inside hyd steering will be going in

man I just went out to the boat with new box and tryed to start one more time it had spark 
so I will put the new one in anyway. I hope its not somthing else. also I was told to send box to msd and they can check it, rebuild it?????? anyone here of that. art
