Default Jabsco Water Puppy

Anyone use a water puppy remote bilge pump . I never heard anyone mention them and it seems they could be useful if you cant get a standard bilge pump to the transom

I've used them before many times. They work well. The drawback is if you have it switched manually and forget and leave it on running dry it will melt the impeller and sometimes as a result smoke the motor too. It's best to rig them on an automatic switch (electronic or float) with a manual override switch in the circuit.

They also don't have huge gpm ratings like the great big submersibles do. And you can't mount them where the motor is going to get wet.

I have also found another pump by jabsco called a PAR single diaphragm pump. The idea behind this as a second pump is to rid the bilge of the last little bit of water that a standard pump can't .
