Question How do you remove painted graphics???

I'm considering redoing the graphics on my boat. It's paint over the gelcoat. What do you use to get it off without killing the gelcoat?

I understand that the gel under the paint will be a different color than the rest of the boat due to fading....

My buddy used oven cleaner to take the painted named off the back of a boat he bought as a fixer upper. Here are some picks. I am not sure I would use it on a nicely painted boat though. Oh my subscription expired sorry no pics
