Default Livorsi controls...diode needed?

I'm installing new Livorsi controls for single engine with trim button in the stick. Do you need to use a diode?

I was installing the controls and a buddy said he thinks you have to run a diode in the line. It didn't sound right to me so I thought I would ask. Besides, if it was needed I figured Livorsi would have supplied it.

Got it. But just curious why the tabs would need it and not the trim?

If the control switch is a single switch,(1 switch used for both tabs) diodes will allow the 2 factory separate dash switches to still operate each tab indepentently. If no diode, then both of those dash switches would in a sence now be tied together at the new single control switch; no independent triming.
But if used for a single drive, you just have 1 up and down switch, nothing to keep independent. thus no diode needed
