I thought the 6's came with a merc style extention box. I guess the transom assy kinda looks like its built in??

The way I have understood it is Mercury's transome assembly already has you set back 12" so most boats have no need for the box.

However some boats still benifit from an additional 12" so the Stelling's extension box comes into play.

Check300 has his transmission in side of his stellings extension box, mounted into a plug-in #6. He was able to keep his engine back and a stock rear seat location. He could fill you in better, but he has a great set-up.

Does merc make a evtention box like Stelling? or is it just built into the transom assy?

So if someone want more set back that the merc like in your pick they have to use the stellings?

Just trying to learn about them, thanks :D
