I had to leave my boat in the water one time when my trailer broke for two weeks and in the nasty water we have in ohio, my boat went from a 60mph boat to a 45 mph boat. It will definatly slow them down. Plus you may not see it but others can, you now how nasty it looks when you are shooting across the water and you can see that crap on the bottom, I hate that, but thats just me, I am picky. You can also get bottom paint that will help and I think they make it in clear. I have never used it but I think that makes it so it will just wash right off, but I could be wrong.

Easy way to use the Muratic acid is to get a cheap pump garden sprayer and spray it on.

The fumes suck so make sure and stay up wind from it.

Rinse VERY, VERY well afterward.

Went to Home Depot last night, and they sell muratic acid in a 2 gallon package for 9 bucks. I used it last night, and it worked great. Like was mentioned though, the fumes are pretty nasty, so dont do it in the garage. 2 gallons for 9 bucks sure beats 12 for a pint from the boating stores.

I know pool guys wash the gunnite bottoms prior to painting. Think that is some kind of resin mix. Never used it straight on gel , similar to mary kate on and off?

You can dilute the acid with water to a 50/ 50 mix if you are worried about it harming you gel. If you decide to dilute the acid make sure to ADD THE ACID TO THE WATER... DO NOT ADD WATER TO FULL STRENGTH ACID YOU CAN HAVE A RAPID BOILING EFFECT CAUSING SEVERE BURN TO THE SKIN. Also a good idea to use rubber gloves.

BURNS SUCK!!!!

Lt.

O'yea any pool owners you can also use it to raise the PH of you pool. once again a heck of a lot cheaper than the pool store chemicals.
