I have 540na motors. I tuned mine on a dyno. They really liked the 1050 better than any other, i dont run power valves and use 94 jetting all around. I had to open the idle bleeds up a bit but they idle fine in gear at 650 rpm. I run a large solid roller 312-322, 690 lift and i use a hvh spacer. My fuel pressure is 7lbs all the time with a manual pump. My motors run between5800-6300. hope this helps you Brian

Agree with you guys that a larger carb will produce more power @ a higher rpm range. For this application and build the smaller 830 cfm to 950 cfm (max) will be alot more effecient. I have a 540 N/A carb package I do run a Holley HP 1050 on and produces 750 HP. Cubic inch is not the only factor you need to look @ when choosing a carb cfm size. We just set a Bonniville land speed record last week with a SBC 368 cu.in. engine with a 32 street roadster class. Car ran 209 MPH . Guess what size carbs I am running......? 2 - 1050 Dominators. You all have very good suggestions I may add!

Sounds like a Pro Stock Truck motor or possibly a derivative of anyway.

I have one of the very first BG Sea Demons that were put out. Actually ordered the carb before it was available. I was very happy with the carb as it was a definite improvement over the Holley it replaced. I've since sold the boat, but I saved the carb. I believe it's sitting on the shelf in my shop. I'd be willing to sell it for a slight discount over what I paid. I doubt if the carb has 20 hours on it.

Mrhorsepower1/Dean....I see in the picture you have posted with the pair of orange marine engines that they have the KE valve covers with the wingnut type thumb screws for easy removal. I wanted to go with those, but was told they leak oil a lot,.....but then I have also heard that they have remedied that problem with some design changes recently. Could you give any insight on your experience with them please...i.e oil leaks, etc? Thanks, Mark

510 was 650hp, with 100gals of fuel. the 850 I would run with about 50gals.
