When you mean cracking, do you mean leaking? If so, when were his 525's built? Sometime in 2005 they went to a "cool collar" where they don't leak anymore. He should be taking this up with CMI not Cigarette. 525EFI have a certain bolt pattern too, I don't think you can just stick another set of exhaust on there that isn't a Sport Tube header.

I've got to disagree with you there Jr.

I realize that this has nothing to do with Steve's (Cignificant) problem, but if I was to buy a new Cig for whatever they cost (400-500K???) and my exhaust broke three times....I wouldn't be a happy camper!!

If a new 2006 Mercedes (or any other brand of car) had a problem with the exhaust manifolds cracking or breaking, do you really think that the dealership or Mercedes would tell the person that bought the car to go pound sand??????

Thanks for all of the replies. Since my exhaust are old, and I don't know their history (they came with the boat), I plan on doing "something" besides fixing them. Feel free to PM me if you have anything to sell.

OSO member Nykamp had a set of Stellings for a TopGun that he was trying to sell. I don't know if you want to go that route....but that's all that I've got!! :D :evilb: :drink: :evilb:

My stainless marine drys are 12yrs old NOW and sound so sweet :D :D :D :D :D and I only boat in the ocean and I bought them used from BOB CHRISTY [ SLIPPERY WHEN WET] race team so I think they were made in 1993 . HE WENT WITH CMI and lost a couple of horses on the same motor it was a A class 26 scarab Larry smith. if your out there bob I'm hitting 83 with the new motor same old boat. :p hope to be hitting 85 to 86 with new prop. art

I'll be going Stainless Marine next spring, I've known two people with cracked CMIs on 525s...no thanks.
